Eye Candy… Tuesday

Er, sorry about that. It’s Eye Candy, the Tuesday edition: Kickin’ it old school.

Our next presentation is O Vertigo’s reimagined La Chambre Blanche. Company founder and principal choreographer Ginette Laurin is a cultural icon in Quebec and internationally, so it’s easy to forget that, back in the day (and today, for all I know), she was a hell of a dancer. Looking backward while simultaneously looking forward is a bit of a theme for Laurin these days, as she said to the Montreal Gazette about La Vie qui bat, in revival in Montreal now. (Hopefully, it will make its way west soon.)

It’s hard to believe, but 1991 was 20 years ago. Seems like just yesterday.
