The Friday Round Up

What is it with Fridays lately? Always seems to rain. Never mind, there is dance aplenty to keep you occupied.

Have you got your Louise Lecavalier tickets yet? Seriously, don’t miss this. It’s going to be astonishing. Astonishingly good, that is. Next Friday and Saturday, at the Playhouse, presented by us! In other dance event news, Ballet Victoria visits Centennial Theatre in North Van, performing an evening called “Ballet Rocks”. Ballet set to the “iconic music of the past”. Will there be Zeppelin? Tonight, go “Inside the Dancers’ Studio” for a free chat with Paul Destrooper and Sandrine Cassini of Ballet Victoria. 7pm, free.

Mandala Arts and Culture presents Gait to the Spirit, with Priyadarsini Govind, who specializes in the South Asian classical style of bharata natyam.  At the Shadbolt Centre in Burnaby on Saturday, 8pm.

Finally, Vancouver Opera’s West Side Story must close on Saturday after the matinee. There is special family pricing for this event, visit www.vancouveropera.ca to get your tickets.
