What a week fill up on dance!

Now here’s a mouthfull – diskordanse Company presents Dislokation May 22 and 23, a new contemporary dance work by Choreographer Nela H. At the  Shadbolt Centre for the Arts, Burnaby, 8pm. Tix.

May 23 – 26 Dancers Dancing and SFU Woodward’s Cultural Programs present  The Fine Line ~ twisted angels.  The piece explores in movement, sound and image how we experience, perceive, relate to and react to our internal and external worlds. SFU Woodwards Goldcorp Centre for the Arts, Studio D 8pm.Tix
This is the time of year when we are treated to the work of some of the new and upcoming dancers graduating from professional training programs about town.  First off, May 23 and 24 Modus Operandi, a contemporary dance training program for pre-professionals, has its year-end show with works by Wen Wei Wang, Science Friction and Tiffany Tregarthan. May 25 and 26 The Arts Umbrella Dance Company has its season finale, with works by James Kudelka, Aszure Barton and Stephen Shropshire. Playhouse Theatre, 8pm, Saturday matinee 2pm.Tix
And finally on May 27 Lamondance, another contemporary dance training program, presents Here and After featuring three diverse works by choreographers/directors Lara Barclay, Davi Rodrigues and Monica Proença, with two shows at 4 and 8pm at the Dance Centre.
